Stations in Aachen
If you are arriving by train, please get off at one of the following four stations in Aachen: Westbahnhof (not wheelchair accessible), Schanz, Hauptbahnhof, or Rothe Erde.

City of AachenFrom Cologne-Bonn Airport (CGN)
- You can take the train to Aachen from the railroad level directly below Terminals 1 and 2.
- Take the RE6, RB27 or S19 to Cologne Central Station (Hbf).
- From Cologne main station you can take the regional trains RE1 or RE9 to Aachen main station, for example.
- The journey takes around 1 hour, 20 minutes.
- Alternatively, you can also use the long-distance trains.
From Düsseldorf Airport (DUS)
- You can take the SkyTrain from Terminal A/B or C to the long-distance train station located directly on the Düsseldorf airport grounds. More info DUS
- For example, take the RE1, RE3, RE19 or other trains to Düsseldorf Hbf.
- From Düsseldorf Hbf. you can take the regional trains, for example RE1 to Aachen.
- The journey takes around two hours.
- Alternatively, you can also use the long-distance trains (ICE).

From the Netherlands and Belgium cheaply by train and bus
With the Euregio Ticket, you can travel affordably throughout the Rhine-Meuse region across three countries (Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands). For example, with this day ticket for 23.50 euros, you can travel from Maastricht or Liège to Aachen and back. On weekends and holidays, the ticket is valid for two adults and three children under 12 years of age.
By long-distance bus to Aachen
The long-distance bus stop in Aachen (Henricistraße) is well connected to the city center.
The Westbahnhof is about an 8-minute walk away. By train, you can reach Aachen Hauptbahnhof in about 5 minutes.Search for train connections and buy tickets (DB)
Find a bus connection (ASEAG)
City of AachenThe Bendplatz bus stop is around three minutes away. You can reach the Elisenbrunnen in around five minutes by taking bus number 7 or 27 on the same side of the street.
City of AachenThe Ponttor bus stop is about an eight-minute walk away. Bus lines 3B, 13B, and 33 will take you to the main train station in about 13 minutes. Bus 43 will take you to the Elisenbrunnen in about 10 minutes.
There are additional connections to downtown and the bus terminal.
To reach the World Cup grounds, take the (shuttle) buses from the bus terminal.

With the “eezy” fare, valid throughout North Rhine-Westphalia, you can travel flexibly and affordably, paying based on the distance traveled as the crow flies. Eezy is generally cheaper than a standard ticket. There is a monthly cost cap equal to that of the Deutschlandticket, but without a subscription. The fare can be used via many apps such as “movA,” “naveo,” and “mobil.nrw.” You must check in and out.

The admission tickets to the FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 are valid on the respective event day as a ticket for the outward and return journey to the show grounds in the Soers using the regional buses and trains in the area of the Aachener Verkehrsverbund (AVV).
Shuttles
During the World Cup period (August 11-23), shuttle buses will run at regular intervals at the beginning and end of the World Cup events. This means you can get to and from the World Cup site in comfort.
Single ticket and 24-hour ticket
In Aachen, you can choose from a variety of public transportation tickets: Single-ride tickets for a trip of up to 4 stops for €2.90 and for a longer trip (90 minutes) for €4, a 24-hour ticket for one person for €9.60 or for 5 people for €19.20. You can purchase these tickets from bus drivers, at ticket machines, at the ASEAG Customer Center at the bus station, or online via the movA app.
Children under 6 years of age and children under 7 who are not yet in school ride for free. Children between the ages of 6 and 14 travel at the reduced child fare.
For longer stays in North Rhine-Westphalia or Germany, you can use the eezyticket NRW or Deutschlandticket (online only).

Avoid searching for a parking space! Park your car free of charge in a P+R facility in the AVV area and travel to Aachen by bus and train. You only pay for your public transport ticket. If you already have a public transport season ticket (e.g. the Deutschlandticket) or a ticket for yourself and all fellow travelers (including World Cup tickets), you can park there free of charge. Your World Cup ticket includes bus and train travel in the AVV region on the day of the event.

Park your car at a Park & Ride facility (open 24 hours) and take the bus to the city center with up to four other people for just five euros. If you already have a public transit pass (such as the Deutschlandticket) or a ticket for yourself and all your fellow travelers (including World Cup tickets), you can park there for free. There is one exception, however: The parking ticket at the Tivoli parking garage also serves as a transit pass for up to five people. This is convenient if you’d like to travel to the city center.
Your World Cup ticket includes bus and train travel within the AVV region on the day of the event. If you do not have a public transit pass or ticket, you can purchase a P+R ticket directly from the bus driver. This ticket is valid for five people for 24 hours.In parking garages / at your hotel
You can also park your car in one of Aachen’s parking garages or at your hotel and get to the events using other modes of transportation, such as buses, shuttles, taxis, electric bike-sharing services, e-scooters, by bicycle, or on foot

Special parking spaces will be available for visitors directly on the World Cup grounds and in the surrounding area on the days of the event. Due to high demand, we recommend that you reserve your parking ticket well in advance.
The “APAG Shuttle” runs from designated APAG parking lots directly to the tournament grounds, Albert-Servais-Allee entrance. When using the APAG parking lots, the ride on the “APAG Shuttle” to and from the parking lots is free of charge.

A Kiss & Ride parking area is available near the event venue, right next to TÜV Aachen (Hubert-Wienen-Straße 36, 52070 Aachen), where you may stop for up to 10 minutes to drop off or pick up passengers. The area will be clearly signposted and monitored to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. Please adhere to the 10-minute time limit to avoid delays.

Street parking is time-limited and subject to a fee. We recommend that you park your car at your hotel, in parking garages, or at Park & Ride locations, or purchase a parking ticket for the event, as demand for parking is very high during the World Equestrian Games. Pay parking fees

There are over 700 charging stations for electric cars available in Aachen. When charging on public streets, please note that between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m., charging time is limited to 2 hours at AC charging stations and 1 hour at DC charging stations (fast-charging stations).You can find

Here you will find suggestions for cycle routes, information on parking your bike at the World Cup site and in the city center, information on bike sharing and information on taking bikes on buses and trains.
Best cycle routes to the World Cup site
The city of Aachen has put together a list of the best bike routes for you. You can find these routes for free on Komoot. The routes take you from the main train station, Elisenbrunnen, and the market to the World Cup grounds and back again.
Bicycle parking at the WM site
There are parking spaces for cyclists everywhere in Aachen. You can ask your hotel for secure parking facilities. There are parking spaces at the World Championships site itself. There is also limited supervised bicycle parking at the World Championships site, for a fee. You can also safely store your bike bag and helmet there.
Taking bicycles on buses and trains
Special rules apply to the transportation of bicycles on buses and trains. The number of bicycles permitted as well as the day and time they can be taken on board are limited. And priority is given to passengers, including wheelchair users and people with baby carriages.
Repair your bike
You can carry out small repairs yourself at free bike service stations in the city or have your bike repaired at the bike station for a fee.
Free bike tour through the horse country park on August 19
Enjoy a beautiful bike ride through the scenic Pferdelandpark, which stretches between the cities of Aachen, Herzogenrath, and Kerkrade.
The 22-kilometer bike ride begins at 4:30 p.m. on Soerser Weg (see map). Please bring your own bicycles; helmets are required. Registration is required by August 14 via email: “neuinaachen@mail.aachen.de

People with limited mobility can use a rickshaw to reach their destination during the World Equestrian Games (wheelchairs and walkers cannot be transported). Please contact

Bike sharing in Aachen

Rent an e-bike at a station and return it to the station near your destination (e.g. World Cup grounds or Elisenbrunnen). Booking is possible via the movA app and the provider's app (Euregiobike). The movA app can also be used to book public transport tickets and e-scooters.
With the e-scooter in Aachen

Simply book the e-scooters via the app. Please ensure that you only park your e-scooter in the designated parking areas when you finish the rental process. These areas are marked in the respective provider apps.
30% discount for Dott
During the World Equestrian Games (August 11–23, 2026), all existing and new customers can receive a 30% discount on the total fare up to five times (valid throughout Germany)! The vouchers can be redeemed no earlier than one day before the event begins and are valid until one day after the World Equestrian Games.

On foot in Aachen

Did you know that more than 30 percent of all journeys in Aachen-Mitte are made on foot? It takes ten to fifteen minutes to walk from the Alleenring to the cathedral. This means that many destinations in the city center can be reached safely and comfortably on foot. You are supported in your choice of route by pedestrian signposting.
