Mobility report
With the new "Mobility Report", we take a look at all relevant mobility topics - from walking, cycling, local public transport and motor vehicle traffic to innovative approaches such as sharing models and digitalization in mobility. It highlights the developments of the past year, describes current challenges and highlights prospects for the coming years. The aim is to make mobility issues in Aachen tangible for all citizens.
2024
In recent years, the city of Aachen has already devoted itself intensively to a central aspect of mobility with the activity report on the cycling decision and the Cycling Report 2023. But mobility in our city is much more than just cycling. The Mobility Report 2024 provides a comprehensive overview of the diverse mobility issues in Aachen for the first time. Looking back on the year 2024, key measures are described that strengthen the environmental alliance (walking, cycling and public transport). Footpaths will be made more attractive to make walking in the city more pleasant. Aachen is also focusing on expanding safe routes and improving infrastructure for cyclists. Despite the challenges posed by construction sites and infrastructural renovations, the city is working to make public transport reliable and convenient. This involves not only new vehicles, but also barrier-free bus stops and better timetabling of bus routes.
