An extraordinary outdoor swimming season comes to an end this coming Sunday, September 13: record-breaking temperatures and record attendance, new showers, ticket booths, and changing rooms—and the same old regulars. So this is your last chance to take a dip in the cool water there this year. After that, you’ll have to wait about seven and a half months until the Hangeweiher outdoor pool opens its gates right on time on May 1 for the 2027 season.

For some of Aachen’s municipal indoor swimming pools, the end of the season means longer hours, because staff from the Hangeweiher can then be reassigned to the indoor pools. Starting Monday, September 14, the following hours will apply:

Elisabeth Hall

• Mon. 06.30 - 13.00 h
• Tue. 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Wed. closed
• Thurs. 06.30 - 13.00 h
• Fri. 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Sat. 6:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• Sun. closed

South swimming pool

• Mon. 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Tue. 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Wed. 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Thu. 12:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. (during school breaks, playtime: 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)
• Fri. 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Sat. 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (Fins swimming: 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and playtime: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.)
• Sun. 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Brand indoor swimming pool

• Mon. 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Tue. 12.00 - 18.00 h
• Wed. 6:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. (Playtime: 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. and Toddler Time: 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.)
• Thurs. 06.30 - 17.00 h
• Fri. 06.30 - 18.00 h
• Sat. 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (Playtime: 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. and Toddler Time: 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.)
• Sun. 08.00 - 13.30 (finswimming: 12.00 - 13.00)

Ulla Klinger Hall

• Closed for renovations, expected to reopen in February 2027
