New Training Facility on Emmastraße Officially Opened: Alemannia Aachen now has additional training facilities
Alemannia Aachen now has a second training field. On Friday, October 9, the new field on Emmastraße was officially opened in the presence of representatives from the City of Aachen, Aachener Stadionbeteiligungsgesellschaft mbH (ASB), and Alemannia. This provides the club with additional training options, which are particularly important during the winter months. When the durability and quality of the turf fields decline due to weather conditions, the additional field offers another way to maintain training operations at the usual high level.
The project will be implemented based on a jointly developed financing model between the City of Aachen, Aachener Stadionbeteiligungsgesellschaft mbH (ASB), and TSV Alemannia Aachen GmbH. Alemannia will contribute a significant portion of the investment costs and will also cover the ongoing upkeep and maintenance costs. The upkeep and maintenance of the field will, in turn—as is already the case with the existing training field—be handled by ASB.
Björn Jansen, president of Alemannia Aachen, explains: “We would like to thank our two partners—the City of Aachen and ASB—for their excellent cooperation and for bringing this project to fruition. Good infrastructure is of fundamental importance for Alemannia’s continued sustainable development. This second training field improves the conditions for the professional team’s daily training and creates important additional capacity.”
Dr. Michael Ziemons, Mayor of Aachen: “As a resident of Aachen and an Alemannia fan, the club is close to my heart, and I know how important the right conditions are for strong athletic development. That’s why I’m especially pleased that, with its second training field now located right next to the Tivoli, Alemannia will have better opportunities for its training operations in the future. An area that had long been unusable has once again become a place where people work every day toward Alemannia’s success. I wish the team many intense training sessions—and hopefully many successes that will begin right here on this field.”
Christoph Kind, managing director of ASB, adds: “We are pleased to have contributed to improving the conditions for Alemannia’s daily training with this additional training field.”
