IT failure: City fully operational again - Mayor Ziemons thanks for understanding and patience
After a critical power failure occurred in a regioIT data center late Monday evening, all IT applications and services of the city of Aachen were temporarily unavailable on Tuesday. The administration is now fully operational again; all systems have been successfully restarted.
Employees of the city administration and regioIT have been working through the night to ensure that the technical systems and specialist applications are running properly. "Operations are up and running again! I am incredibly grateful to the employees for this extraordinary effort. It's the only way we can offer a comprehensive service for citizens again today. This motivation makes me really proud," says Lord Mayor Michael Ziemons. His thanks also go to regioIT and all those involved.
Despite the rapid restoration, there were still some restrictions today. The City of Aachen therefore asks all those affected for their understanding - especially those citizens whose requests could not be processed yesterday or who had to wait a long time. "We would like to expressly thank you for your patience and trust," says Dr. Ziemons.
