The Aachen Public Works Department is having the road surface on St.-Vither-Straße repaired. This affects the section between the intersections with
Eupener Straße and Salierallee. The work will take place from Monday, July 20, through Friday, August 7. The City Public Works Department has notified residents of the upcoming construction project via an informational letter and has personally informed business owners.

During the renovation work, St.-Vither-Straße will remain largely open to traffic as a one-way street in the direction of Salierallee/Siegelallee. Access to courtyards and garages will be limited during the construction period. In the direction of Eupener Straße/Luxemburger Ring, vehicle traffic will be rerouted via Salierallee and Eupener Straße.

St.-Vither-Straße will be completely closed for a total of three days. On those days, the final and top layer of asphalt will be laid, and the road markings will be applied. This is expected to take place from Thursday afternoon, July 30, through Saturday, August 1.

The sidewalks on St.-Vither-Straße will remain open and accessible during construction. Cyclists are asked to walk their bikes if they are using the sidewalks, or to use other streets in the area. Parking on the sidewalks is prohibited throughout the entire construction period. Bus service, waste collection, and access for emergency services and the fire department will be ensured at all times.

The construction work may cause some noise and dust. The City of Aachen asks for your understanding. Appropriate protective measures will be taken to minimize these disturbances as much as possible.

The municipal authority asks that you not walk on the wet pavement, as there is a risk that your clothing will become permanently stained. The same applies to driving vehicles on the wet pavement.

Given the poor condition of the road surface, asphalt rehabilitation is absolutely necessary at this time and cannot be postponed. This is the only way to ensure that traffic safety is maintained for all road users on St.-Vither-Straße.

The renovation will begin immediately after the completion of the construction work currently being carried out by the State Road Construction Agency of North Rhine-Westphalia (Landesbetrieb Straßenbau NRW) on Eupener Straße between Alt-Linzenshäuschen and the German-Belgian border at Köpfchen—deliberately timed to coincide with the start of summer vacation—and will end before the start of the World Equestrian Games.

In the summer of 2025, the municipal utility had the roadway on Eupener Straße repaved between the intersection of Luxemburger Ring and St.-Vither-Straße and the intersection of Diepenbenden and Zweiter Rote-Haag-Weg.
