Aachen Citizens' Council: Vote on the next topic now

The City of Aachen is calling on all citizens to vote on the next topic of the Citizens' Council. The Citizens' Council gives Aachen residents the opportunity to actively participate in the city's development and jointly develop recommendations on important issues for the future.

It is up to the public to decide which issue takes center stage. The topics available for selection were developed as part of a new process: First of all, ideas for topics were collected from the public. These were then examined and further developed by the administration. After further consultation with the political groups, the following four questions are now available for selection:

Strengthening
Nightlife CultureHow can the city of Aachen specifically promote, spatially safeguard, and organizationally support nightlife culture so that young adults perceive the city as an attractive place to live and work and consciously choose Aachen as their permanent home?

Improving Cleanliness
in Public SpacesWhat joint measures can the city administration and citizens take to help ensure that the city of Aachen becomes and remains cleaner, and what is needed to effectively combine civic engagement, public education, and waste management in this effort?

Making City Partnerships More
AttractiveHow can the City of Aachen make its city partnerships more visible, more open, and more attractive so that more people will get involved in partnership projects and new participants can be recruited?

Strengthening Climate Action in
Everyday Life
: What can help residents of Aachen contribute more to climate action in their daily lives, and how can the city support them in a way that is socially equitable and economically sustainable?

Vote now and have your say!
Citizens now have until May 6 to vote online at https://beteiligung.nrw.de/k/-b3XQnP7s. The issue with the most votes will become the focus of the Aachen Citizens’ Council in 2026.
