Sports committee of the city of Aachen decides on subsidies
At its meeting on Tuesday, May 20, the City of Aachen's Sports Committee unanimously approved various grants.
Grants for the procurement of sports equipment
The Polizei Sportverein Aachen 1922 e. V. has been awarded a grant of 2,500 euros for the purchase of two electric karts. This purchase is necessary because from the 2025 season, only electric karts will be permitted in competitions. In order to be able to practice with these vehicles, which are noticeably different to drive, the club would now like to purchase its own.
The Burtscheider Turnverein 1873 e. V. receives 748.03 euros for four table tennis tables including nets to enable the steadily increasing number of members to train.
FC Eintracht Kornelimünster e. V. needs a youth soccer goal for training the 13 teams in the youth soccer department. The club will receive a grant of 374.98 euros for this.
A mobile floor ring for sparring training sessions in the ring is to be made possible for BC Helois Aachen 1912 e. V. with a grant of EUR 1,314.62.
Sports promotion - social participation in sport
The Sports Committee also decided to subsidize a number of projects for social participation in sport:
- Aachener Förderverein Integration durch Sport e. V.: Open Sunday - Düppelstraße and Kennedypark districts, Mataréstraße and Schönforst districts, Rothe Erde district
- 1. Aachener Skateboard Club e. V.: Partizipative Baustelle
- Aix-la-Sports e. V.: Financial support for swimming training for adult refugees, swimming training for unaccompanied underage refugees; support for non-swimmer training at Schulverband Ost; financial support for swimming training for families receiving education and participation benefits
- Burtscheider Turnverbund Aachen 1908 e. V.: Rolling Bandits - inclusive wheelchair handball team at BTB Aachen
- Aachener Interkultureller Familiensportverein e. V.: Training sessions for children's swimming, games and sport
- Integration Agency Aachen-Ost of the Diakonisches Werk i. K. Aachen e. V.: Intercultural bicycle tours
- Evangelical Free Church of Jesus Christ Our Hope Peniel e. V. Aachen: Equilibrium 2025 - A dance course for JCH women
- Lebenshilfe Aachen FeD GmbH: Seestern - an inclusive learn-to-swim program
- Sozialdienst katholischer Frauen e. V. Aachen: Parent-child gymnastics
The total amount of grants for social participation in sport is 50,000 euros.
Renovation of the artificial turf pitch
The committee also approved the renovation of the artificial turf pitch at the Vaalser Straße 292 sports facility, which is used by DJK Westwacht 08 Aachen e. V., for 2026, subject to the approval of the budget.
