Photovoltaics for apartment buildings: Aachen launches consulting offensive
In cooperation with the Solarenergie-Förderverein Deutschland e.V. (SFV), the City of Aachen is offering an advisory campaign on the subject of photovoltaics (PV) on apartment buildings. While the installation of a PV system on an apartment building is hardly more technically demanding than on a single-family home, the planning and billing requires more detailed consideration.
In a series of events, the SFV provides interested homeowners and communities in Aachen with the knowledge they need to successfully implement such PV projects. This series includes three specialist lectures, four initial consultations and five kick-off consultations.
1. specialized lectures
Three lectures provide in-depth knowledge about photovoltaics (PV) on apartment buildings. The lectures build on each other and offer a practical introduction to planning and implementation. All lectures take place in Aachen city center and start at 6 pm.
The first lecture is on Wednesday, May 21 and will provide information on PV basics for apartment buildings. The second lecture on Thursday, June 12, will focus on possible operating concepts for PV systems on apartment buildings. And the lecture on Monday, July 7, will be all about communal building supply for PV systems on apartment buildings.
2. open initial consultations
Four initial consultations offer a compact introduction to the topic. They each include a short presentation and a Q&A session. All initial consultations take place online.
It starts on Monday, May 26, with an open consultation on PV basics. This will be followed the next day, May 27, by a consultation on PV on apartment buildings. Both initial consultations start at 5 pm.
Two further initial consultations will follow on June 23 and 24. On Monday, June 23, the consultation will focus on PV basics, and on Tuesday, June 24, PV on multi-family houses. These two initial consultations will both start at 1.30 pm.
3. individual kick-off consultations
In five consultation appointments, which are arranged individually, apartment owners and communities can discuss specific issues. Depending on the status of the project, topics include: the design of the system, the legal framework, the operating concepts or the next planning steps. This offer is limited to five residential properties. All kick-off consultations take place online.
Participation & registration
Participation in all events is free of charge. Registration is required for lectures and initial consultations, and an application is required for the kick-off consultations. Interested parties can register or apply by e-mail to the following address: klimaschutz@mail.aachen.de
Background:
With this initiative, the city of Aachen is building on successful measures to promote solar energy. For example, the concept of "packsdrauf-Solarpartys" was successfully implemented in Aachen - also together with the SFV. The advisory campaign is intended to help impart sound knowledge about solar energy, break down inhibitions and actively promote the energy transition.
