"Democracy thrives on listening": Open dialog with the Lord Mayor in Eilendorf

On Friday, July 4, the City of Aachen cordially invites all citizens from Eilendorf and the surrounding area to the next Citizens' Dialogue in the meeting room of the district office on Heinrich-Thomas-Platz. The open dialog with Lord Mayor Sibylle Keupen from 5.30 to 7.30 p.m. offers an opportunity for direct exchange, participation and active democracy.

Anyone interested can share their questions, ideas and wishes on urban development directly with the city's leaders and Sylke Sommer, deputy head of the district office. "Democracy thrives on listening - and on people feeling that their voice makes a difference. This is exactly what we want to achieve with the citizens' dialog," explains Keupen. "On behalf of the entire team at the Eilendorf district office, I am delighted that our mayor is seeking to get close to the people in our district and is personally addressing the suggestions and proposals of Eilendorf's citizens," adds Sommer.

Following the successful dialog events in Laurensberg, Haaren and Richterich, the focus is now on Eilendorf. The Citizens' Dialogue is an established format in the city's calendar of events and takes place once or twice a month at different locations throughout Aachen. The aim is to address concerns at an early stage, create transparency and develop solutions together.

Participation is free of charge and registration is not required. Anyone who would like to share a specific concern in advance can do so by emailing the Citizens' Dialogue team at buerger_innendialog@mail.aachen.de. Further information can be obtained by calling Sabrina Hoenen on 0241 432-7318.
