"Judenhass Underground" - reading and discussion at the vhs Aachen
The Adult Education Center (vhs) Aachen invites all interested parties to a reading followed by a discussion entitled "Judenhass Underground: Antisemitism in emancipatory subcultures and movements". The event will take place on Wednesday, March 12, between 7 and 9 pm in room 241 of the vhs, Peterstraße 21-25, and is part of the series "Aachen 1944 and the path to democracy".
In their book "Judenhass Underground", editors Stefan Lauer and Nicolas Potter bring together analytical contributions, interviews and interventions. It becomes clear that anti-Semitism also occurs in subcultures and movements with a progressive, emancipatory self-image. There, well-known myths reappear in an alternative form. This will be demonstrated using many examples. The reading followed by a discussion is intended to offer a critical but constructive reflection on the anti-Semitic currents in these subcultures.
Registration is required at www.vhs-aachen.de/kurssuche/kurs/Judenhass+Underground/251-04210. The event is free of charge.
