Current

In Stromgasse, in the section between Mühlenberg and Hubertusstraße, extensive renewal work has been carried out by Regionetz (gas, water, wastewater and district heating lines) since April 2023. This will involve interfering with the roadway and ancillary facilities. The scope of the Regionetz measures was originally estimated at 12 months. Due to archaeological finds (Paubach - Carolingian period), the work has been delayed and rescheduling is necessary.

Occasion and goal

Due to archaeological finds (Paubach - Carolingian period), the work has been delayed and rescheduling is necessary.

Planning

The restoration of the street space after completion of the Regionetz measures will be used to remedy the existing functional deficiencies of pedestrians. Stromgasse is a cross-connection between premium footpaths and is to be upgraded as such in terms of its function and use.

The traffic system will be built at the same level, including tactile elements. The entire cross-section will be paved. The facility will be designated as a traffic-calmed area. The planned 9 parking spaces will be arranged alternately. In addition, 3 tree locations and 26 bicycle parking spaces are planned.

The previous one-way street regulation with bicycle traffic clearance in the opposite direction will be retained.

Next steps

The archaeologically relevant discovery makes it necessary for Regionetz to reschedule the construction of the new sewer. Once this planning change has been completed, the decision on execution can be obtained from the specialist department and the construction period for the municipal measure can be determined.

Construction times and costs

The construction period is around 6 months. The costs are expected to be around €1.0 million.
