On Saturday, 30 May, clubs and non-profit organizations presented themselves in bright sunshine at "Aachen zeigt Engagement 2026" in the city park. Numerous interested visitors took the opportunity to get to know Aachen's diverse volunteering landscape and talk to volunteers.

On May 30, 2026, over 185 clubs, initiatives, and community-oriented groups will showcase their work in the City Park—with creative hands-on activities, fascinating insights, and a colorful stage program for the whole family.

25 young people from Aachen and the StädteRegion receive an honorary scholarship for their special voluntary work

On May 18, 2025, Aachen's city park became a lively meeting place for all those who are committed to the common good: The city of Aachen had invited people to the "Aachen shows commitment" day of action - and over 160 associations, initiatives and committed groups responded to this call. Together with numerous visitors, we celebrated a festival that provided a stage for all those who form the backbone of our urban society - the volunteers.

Around 600 volunteers from Aachen accepted the invitation of Lord Mayor Dr. Michael Ziemons to the Coronation Hall of the Town Hall on Friday, 9 January 2026. At the traditional New Year's reception, the city thanked the representatives of more than 320 associations, organizations and initiatives for their tireless efforts - and sent a strong signal of cohesion and confidence.

The 2026 funding period has started!
Under this year's funding theme "Digital into the future - committed with AI and Co.", the state of North Rhine-Westphalia is funding projects for digitalization or the use of AI in your commitment this year. Applications for the 2026 funding period have been possible since March 2, 2026.
