Three times a week: running in the forest stadium with lighting
It’s almost time again to lace up your running shoes for fall and winter! Every Monday and Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the lighting system at Aachen’s Waldstadion will be turned on, giving residents the chance to go for a run there. In addition, the Waldstadion will continue to open its gates on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. This means that, starting Friday, October 2, all running enthusiasts can once again run at Aachen’s Waldstadion three times a week.
However, these events will not take place on Sunday, November 1, or during the Christmas season from December 21 to January 3, 2027.
The “Running at the Waldstadion under the lights” program on Mondays and Fridays ends on Monday, March 29, 2027. The Sunday program will continue year-round.
Important: The City of Aachen expressly notes that, for liability reasons, the stadium’s changing rooms and showers are not open and that no coaching staff is on duty. The City is not liable for any accidents that occur while using the stadium."
