Conversation at the Weekly Market: Mayor Invites People to Share Their Thoughts
Weekly markets are not only places to shop, but also community gathering spots and opportunities for people to meet and talk. Mayor Dr. Michael Ziemons will take advantage of this setting on Thursday, September 24, to engage directly with residents. From 8 to 10 a.m., he will be at the weekly market at Elisenbrunnen on Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz, together with District Mayor Melanie Peñelosa.
All residents of Aachen are cordially invited to discuss their questions, concerns, and suggestions with the mayor. They are welcome to raise issues related to their own neighborhood as well as questions about the development of the city as a whole. Personal concerns, ideas, and local political issues are also welcome topics for discussion.
“Weekly markets are a part of everyday life in our city. This is where people gather, shop, run into one another, and strike up conversations. I want to take advantage of this informal and relaxed atmosphere to listen and talk with residents about the issues that matter to them. I’m looking forward to the many encounters and different perspectives,” says the mayor.
No registration is required. Anyone interested can simply drop by and discuss their concerns directly.
