Pommerotter Weg: Road to Get a New Layer of Asphalt
As part of the major asphalt work on Pommerotter Weg, the Aachen Public Works Department is having the road surface repaired. This affects the section from the Eupener Straße entrance to just past the intersection at house number 17. The work will take place between Monday, September 7, and Wednesday, September 23. The affected area must be completely closed off; however, access to courtyards and garages will be available through the construction site during this time. The sidewalks will remain open; cyclists are asked to walk their bikes along the sidewalk. Access for fire, emergency medical, and nursing services will remain guaranteed.
From approximately 6:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, through 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19,
the roadway will be primed, followed by the installation of the asphalt pavement. Therefore, no motor vehicle traffic will be permitted in the entire road section described above. This also applies to utility services.
Pedestrian traffic will also be restricted during the paving work: The existing sidewalks will remain open. However, where there is no sidewalk, the street cannot be used as an alternative route. Residents can use the forest path toward II.-Rote-Haag-Weg as an alternative route for the duration of the asphalt paving work.
It is strongly recommended not to walk on the sprayed road surface, as there is a risk of permanently staining clothing. The same applies to driving vehicles. Parking on the sidewalks is prohibited during the entire construction period. The work may cause noise and dirt nuisance. Appropriate protective measures will be taken to keep this to a minimum.
Given the poor condition of the road surface, asphalt rehabilitation is absolutely necessary at this time and cannot be postponed. This is the only way to ensure that traffic safety is maintained for all road users.
