As part of an emergency repair, the specially designed paved area in Borngasse needs to be repaired. Due to the additional load caused by the detour traffic for Theaterplatz, serious damage has become apparent there, which is acutely affecting road safety. The road maintenance department of Aachen's municipal services will therefore be removing the defective slab areas during Whitsun Tuesday, May 26. Asphalt will then be laid as an initial measure. A permanent repair will have to be postponed to a later date.

Traffic will be diverted past the construction site; there may be short-term restrictions and waiting times. Road users are requested to avoid the area as far as possible. Pedestrian traffic is not affected.
