Hobby Horsing at the City Library: Holiday Event for the World Equestrian Games
As part of the accompanying program for the World Equestrian Games, the Aachen City Library is inviting children ages 8 to 12 to a four-day summer camp focused on hobby horsing from July 28 to 31, 2026. Every day from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., participants can look forward to a varied program combining creativity, physical activity, and imagination.
To kick things off on Tuesday, July 28, the children will make their own hobby horses. On Wednesday, July 29, storytelling is on the agenda: Together, the participants will come up with imaginative horse stories and let their creativity run wild. On Thursday, July 30, they’ll make personalized winner’s ribbons for the big tournament day.
The event will conclude on Friday, July 31, starting at 3:00 p.m., with a group ride on the homemade hobbyhorses through downtown Aachen to the Katschhof. There, a final jumping competition will take place in the Archimedes sandbox.
The focus is on having fun together, participating, and enjoying a special afternoon during vacation. Of course, you can take your hobbyhorse and winner’s ribbon home with you afterward.
Participation in the summer program is free of charge. Registration is required and can be done by email at kinderbibliothek@mail.aachen.de or by phone at 0241 432-38610.
