Öcher Schängche shows "Der Wunderkessel"
The Stadtpuppenbühne Öcher Schängche will be performing the children's play "Der Wunderkessel" on Sunday, March 8, at 3 p.m. in the Barockfabrik at Löhergraben 22. A puppet show in 3 acts by Wilhelm Dithmar, adapted into Low German by Will Hermanns.
Plot : Every hundred years, the fairy Sun Beauty awakens from her sleep and the good are rewarded, while the bad are punished. The evil glass merchant Spekulorum learns this in a painful way: He chooses greed over happiness and modesty - and is punished for his actions. Schängchen and Nieres, on the other hand, choose modesty and happiness and, in addition to gold and silver, receive a "Tischlein deck dich" and a "Wunderkessel".
With these wonders, they fly to Aachen on the Bahkauv. Spekulorum, envious of Schängchen and Nieres, tries in vain to steal the enchanted gifts and is finally transformed into a Printen man by the fairy. Schängchen and Gretchen happily move into their new home on the Lousberg together with Nieres.
Further performances are planned for March 15, 22 and 29, all at 3 pm.
Tickets for children's plays can be booked in advance on the Sunday of the play from 10 am to 12.30 pm by calling 0241-172016 or sending an e-mail to puppenbuehne@mail.aachen.de.
