The City of Aachen has added a WhatsApp channel to its portfolio of information and social media platforms. At aachen.de/whatsapp, it is possible to subscribe to the channel and receive relevant messages from the administration. If you don't want to miss anything, you can activate the bell in the channel and receive a signal as soon as new messages are posted.

The city of Aachen is therefore represented on the following platforms: Instagram (the most relevant platform with over 62,000 followers), Facebook, Threads, Mastodon, Bluesky and WhatsApp. The city left X at the beginning of 2025. Although the new channel does not offer the opportunity to communicate directly with citizens, it can provide even more people than before with important information from the administration.

The online editorial team also bundles the most important news of the week in the city's newsletter, which can be subscribed to at aachen.de/newsletter and is sent by e-mail every Friday. All information and current press releases from the administration can of course also be found at aachen.de.
