Roermonder Straße: Traffic remains impaired after bridge damage
The A4 highway bridge in Laurensberg was damaged in an accident involving a large truck on Thursday, February 12. Roermonder Straße is currently closed between the streets Tittardsfeld and Laurentiusstraße and Berensberger Straße in the transition from Laurensberg to Richterich, and the A4 highway also had to be temporarily closed on Thursday to assess the damage.
The damaged drainage pipes on the A4 will be provisionally repaired today (Friday). As soon as this has been done, the Roermonder Straße will also be reopened. This is expected to happen late Friday afternoon.
The final repair of the bridge is due to take place next week. The necessary spare parts still need to be procured. The city is currently assuming that one lane of Roermonder Straße will have to be closed for a few hours during the repair work. However, the details still need to be clarified. Traffic can continue to flow with slight restrictions during the half-lane closure.
According to ASEAG, bus services between the Laurensberg and Richterich-Rathaus stops will be widely diverted via Schlossparkstraße, Ferberberg and Berensberger Straße in both directions while Roermonder Straße is closed. The bus stops Rosenhügel, Haus Linde and Berensberger Straße will be closed. Bus routes 7, 43, 47, 47V, 70, 80, N2, Netliner and V are affected.
