Citizens' forum: Citizens' motions on traffic safety and urban design
The Citizens' Forum of the City of Aachen will hold its next meeting next Tuesday, February 10, at 5 p.m. in the foyer of the Nadelfabrik, Reichsweg 30.
The agenda includes four requests from citizens in accordance with Section 24 of the NRW municipal code: the citizens' forum will discuss, among other things, a motion to permanently regulate vehicle speeds on Walheimer Straße in Aachen-Walheim, particularly in the area of a 30 km/h zone. In addition, a citizens' motion to set up a safe crosswalk across Breiniger Straße at Schildchenweg will be discussed in order to make the crossing safer for pedestrians. Another application deals with the redesign of the Auf der Hüls/Charlottenburger Allee traffic circle in order to improve the situation for cyclists and reduce potential conflicts in road traffic. In addition, there is an application that suggests the removal of the "Türelüre-Lißje fountain" in connection with planned reconstruction measures in the Rennbahn/Klappergasse area.
The Citizens' Forum is a council committee of the City of Aachen and sees itself as a place of exchange between citizens, politics and administration. Interested parties can submit their concerns here, discuss them with the council groups and discuss them together with the specialist administration. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, join in the discussions and play an active role. Every opinion is important.
