Local politics in the week from September 29 to October 5
The coming local political week is fairly straightforward: there are four dates on the calendar. One at an unusual time.
Tuesday, September 30
The Election Committee will convene at 10 a.m. to determine the final results of the run-off election for Lord Mayor at its meeting in the Council Chamber of Aachen City Hall.
The nature conservation advisory board will then meet in the ALRV press room on Albert-Servais-Allee from 5 pm. In addition to the chairman's usual report on cases of participation, the meeting will discuss the replanting of dead hawthorns in Nizzaallee and the legal situation regarding the obligation to keep dogs on a lead in nature conservation areas.
Thursday, October 2
The VHS works committee starts at 5 p.m. in the VHS forum on Peterstraße. Three of the topics: the progress of planning for the "House of Curiosity", the laying of "stumbling blocks" and the introduction of two new program area managers.
The Mobility Committee also begins at the same time, this time with the AVV Advisory Board. The City of Aachen's 2025 local transport plan is on the agenda in the town hall meeting room. In addition, the conversion of the access system to a new reservation and booking system at the bike stations and the elimination of an accident black spot through a new traffic light system at the junction of Von-Coels-Straße and Heckstraße will be presented.
