Late summer ends, autumn begins, and all Aacheners know what that means: it's time for the AachenSeptemberSpecial 2025. From September 18 to 21, a variety of concerts, culinary offerings and a Ferris wheel will transform the city center into a colorful festival mile. "The AachenSeptemberSpecial is a highlight among the numerous events that have enlivened the city center in recent weeks. The open-air festival is always an occasion for people from near and far to come to Aachen and experience the extraordinary flair," emphasized Lord Mayor Sibylle Keupen at a press conference on September 9.

A colorful mix of culture, attractions and science
Whether on the Katschhof, in the Elisengarten, on Münsterplatz, on the Holzgraben or at the Kugelbrunnen: Everywhere, guests can expect Euregional food stands, attractions, concerts and places to linger. Till Schüler, Managing Director of Märkte- und Aktionskreis City e. V. (MAC), was delighted: "Our aim in organizing the AachenSeptemberSpecial is to set positive accents in the city centre and to support the retail trade and gastronomy. We can be proud of the large number of events in Aachen." With the support of sponsors, the MAC and the City of Aachen have once again put together a varied program for the whole family.

The SeptemberSpecial celebrates culture with free admission and also puts science in the spotlight: FH Aachen invites you to the Science Slam on Sunday, September 21, at 1 pm at the Katschhof. Talented science slammers will present their latest research topics in a humorous, creative and understandable way. The mobility special powered by STAWAG will also take place on Sunday. From 12 noon to 5 p.m., exhibitors will be presenting themselves on the topic of mobility and offering interested parties the opportunity to get to know the transportation options of tomorrow.

20 concert highlights
When selecting the bands and musicians performing, the organizers focused on different genres in order to appeal to as wide an audience as possible. The festival will open on Thursday, September 18, with the blues band Bluesaders (at 8 pm at Katschhof) and the percussion band Beats and Noises (8.15 pm at Elisengarten). The other musical protagonists of the 20 concerts are: Öcher Ovvend, pearls, Regio Big Band, Jugend Big Band der Walheimer Big Band, Big Bandits, Diversão!, Elton and the Joels, Jukebox, Die 3, Somebody Wrong Blues Band, Claim 21, Großes Orchester - Musikverein Hahn, Die Hopfenkehlchen, Popchor - Musikschule der Stadt Aachen, Tilar, Betrayers of Babylon and Simon Oslender & Friends.
