Independent youth welfare organizations can nominate members for the Children and Youth Committee
The city's children and youth committee not only includes voting members of the council parties, but also other persons with voting rights (m/f/d) who are nominated by the recognized independent youth welfare organizations in Aachen and elected by the Aachen City Council.
Until Tuesday, 30 September 2025, the recognized independent youth welfare organizations can once again submit proposals for the new formation of the Children and Youth Committee after the local elections on 14 September 2025. Proposals already received will be considered in the list of proposals for the election, provided they meet the legal requirements and are complete. Further nominations must be submitted in writing by the deadline to

The individual proposals must contain the following information:
- Details of the independent sponsor entitled to submit a proposal
- Surname, first name, date of birth, address and profession of the proposed voting member
- Surname, first name, date of birth, address and profession of the proposed deputy.
An important prerequisite: anyone who is nominated must be 18 years of age or older and resident in the city of Aachen. A total of twelve members and twelve deputies are being sought.
