"Ladenliebe" funding program: New retro store revitalizes the Büchel district
A new place that smells of waffles and tastes of childhood: on Saturday, August 30, Anton's Milchbar celebrated its grand opening at Büchel 34 in Aachen. Numerous visitors took the opportunity to take a first look at the retro 50s restaurant. The opening brings new life to a previously vacant store - made possible by the "Ladenliebe" funding program from Wirtschaftsförderung Aachen.
The aim of the program is to revitalize vacant store premises with creative business ideas and to provide start-ups with a low-cost entry into the city centre. The city of Aachen provides the space for this and supports the founders financially, so that innovative concepts enrich city life and the city center becomes even more attractive to visitors.
Back in February 2025, the concept of Anton's Milchbar won over the jury at AC Quadrat's "Battle of Ideas" start-up forum with its creativity and passion. Now Anton's Milchbar at Büchel 34 can welcome its guests and inspire visitors of all ages with its nostalgic retro ambience. In terms of content, however, it is aimed particularly at children and young people. With its inviting atmosphere and lovingly curated range of delicacies, Anton's Milchbar will become an important source of footfall and enrich the Büchel district as a lively attraction in Aachen's city center.
Interested parties still have the opportunity to submit an application for the "Ladenliebe" program or to arrange a personal consultation appointment. Applications can be submitted until the end of 2026.
