Although there is only one meeting in the local political calendar next week, it is a particularly important one: the new Aachen City Council is being constituted.

The constituent meeting of the Aachen City Council begins at 5 p.m. in the Council Chamber of Aachen City Hall. The Council will swear in the designated Lord Mayor Dr. Michael Ziemons and elect his honorary deputies. The Council also decides on the type, number, size and composition of the committees to be formed and their chairs. Other topics include the continuation of the "Inclusion through Sport" project and the expansion of the "surface drainage" section of the Rethelstrasse development site.
