City archaeologist Andreas Schaub reports on current excavations
This year, the city archaeology department has once again been involved in many exciting excavation projects in Aachen. These include, in particular, construction measures in Franzstraße, at the theater, on the market and on the Hühnermarkt. Previous excavations have been further evaluated so that a new map of Roman Aachen could be developed. A cross-border project is also shedding light on the Roman heritage of the Euregio Meuse-Rhine. City archaeologist Andreas Schaub will report on all of this in an interesting and entertaining lecture on Thursday, October 23, 7 to 9 pm. The venue is the Rosfabrik in Aachen, Rosstraße 9-13, in the "Generali" room on the upper floor. Admission is free.
The lecture by city archaeologist Andreas Schaub traditionally marks the start of the Aachener Geschichtsverein's program of events for the winter half-year 2025/26.
