Manhole covers on Peterstraße are being replaced
At Hansemannplatz and on Peterstraße, up to about the height of house number 85, sagging manhole covers need to be replaced. The asphalt around the manhole covers will be milled off, the old covers removed, new manhole covers installed, leveled and then asphalted flush with the surrounding pavement. The work will be carried out at short notice from tomorrow, Wednesday, October 22, until probably Friday, October 31, in order to ensure traffic safety on Peterstrasse.
As the manhole covers are located in the middle of the road, the construction area between Hansemannplatz and Peterstraße must be fully closed in the direction of the city center. Furthermore, Alexanderstraße cannot be accessed from Peterstraße. To enable affected residents to access the road, the one-way street regulation in this area will be lifted for the duration of the work, so that access to Alexanderstraße via Sandkaulstraße via the Heinzenstraße/Couvenstraße junction is possible.
Public transport is not affected by the work. The detour into the city will be via Monheimsallee and Sandkaulstraße. Out of town, Peterstraße will remain open to private traffic.
