Local politics in the week from November 10 to 16

All district councils will be meeting next week. The constituent meetings will all take place on Wednesday. The district mayors and their deputies are then elected and introduced at all meetings. All members are also introduced and sworn in. And there is a question and answer session for residents at all of them.

Wednesday, November 12

The Aachen-Mitte district council meets at 5 p.m. in the council chamber of Aachen City Hall. Three of the topics on the agenda are the road dedication of the access road to the multi-storey parking lot and the Neues Kurhaus on Monheimsallee and the connecting path from Melatener Straße to Mies-van-der-Rohe-Straße. Also on the agenda: the statutes on the levying of contributions for the new development of the "surface water drainage" section of the Pontstrasse development site from Templergraben/Driescher Gässchen to Pontdriesch 43.

The meeting of the Aachen-Brand district council also begins at 5 p.m. in the meeting room of the district office on Paul-Küpper-Platz. An extension of the dedication of the connection between Freunder Landstraße and Am Reulert is on the agenda here.

The Aachen-Kornelimünster/Walheim district council will also meet at 5 p.m. in the meeting room of the district office on Schulberg. Three items on the agenda are the renewal of the road surface on Nütheimer Straße, including cycle lanes, and the allocation of district funds and funds for 2025.

The Aachen-Eilendorf district council will discuss the granting of a subsidy for the KiTa Breitbenden and also the allocation of district funds for 2025 from 5.30 p.m. in the meeting room of the district office at Heinrich-Thomas-Platz.

The meeting of the Aachen-Laurensberg district council starts at 5.30 p.m. in the meeting room of the district office on Rathausstraße. In addition to the above-mentioned points, the retiring members of the district council from the past legislative period will be bid farewell.

The Aachen-Haaren district council meets at 6 p.m. in the meeting room of the community center on Germanusstraße. There are no other current items on the agenda.

The Aachen-Richterich district council discusses a motion on urgent measures to deal with the Asian hornet from 6 p.m. in the meeting room at Schloss Schönau and is informed about an extension of the NetLiner service area to Horbach.
