Pontstraße: City informs about planned redesign

Regionetz GmbH is currently laying district heating pipes in Pontstrasse and renewing the supply lines. Following this underground construction work, the city of Aachen would like to change the appearance of Pontstraße between Hirschgraben and Ponttor in line with the times. It is planning to redesign Pontstrasse in such a way that the needs of all types of traffic are adequately taken into account and the quality of life is improved.

The city is presenting its current plans for Pontstrasse at a public participation event. The information and participation event will take place on Thursday, November 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Am Lousberg elementary school, Saarstraße 66 in Aachen. The suggestions and comments from the public will be recorded, examined and incorporated into the further planning and consultation process.

Interested parties can also view the documents at the following locations: Firstly, they are available online at the following address: www.aachen.de/pontstrasse. Secondly, they are available in the foyer of the administration building at Am Marschiertor, Lagerhausstraße 20, from November 6 to December 4, 2025. The foyer is open at the following times Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5.30 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.
