Cooperation agreement "Finally a HOME"

Having your own four walls is a basic human need. Homelessness is therefore a huge burden for the people affected. But it is also a major challenge for local authorities. As part of the state initiative "Finally a HOME", the JobCenter of the StädtRegion, the municipal housing association "gewoge" and the city of Aachen have now concluded a cooperation agreement that guarantees close collaboration in this area.

The aim of the state initiative is to prevent people from losing their homes, to create housing for people without their own homes and to improve the living conditions of homeless people and those at risk of losing their homes.

The current cooperation agreement makes it possible to initiate supportive measures at an early stage in the event of an imminent eviction action and thus prevent the loss of an apartment. The measures take place in close consultation between the three cooperation partners.

In the projects, social workers and real estate experts support homeless people in their search for housing. At the same time, they act as "caretakers" for landlords who want to rent to homeless people. The aim is to support people who are able to live in their search for accommodation.

Information can be obtained from the City of Aachen's housing security service on 0241 432-56203 and / or at the email address sgbxii@mail.aachen.de.
