Local politics in the week from June 2 to 8

All six local political meetings next week start at 5 pm.

Tuesday, June 3

The operating committee for Aachener Stadtbetrieb meets in the meeting room of Stadtbetrieb on Madrider Ring. There are three reports on the agenda: on the 2024/25 winter service, on the first quarter of 2025 and on the ecological cemetery development concept.

The meeting of the Children and Youth Committee takes place in the administration building on Mozartstraße (room 207). Topics include an application by the 1st Aachen Skateboard Club e. V. to draw up a service agreement. The committee also discusses the use of foundation funds to promote the care of children in need in Aachen as well as support and relief for daycare centers.

The Housing and Property Committee meets in the Council Chamber of Aachen City Hall. Three of the topics: the construction of a new permanent allotment site on Sonnenscheinstraße, the "Vaals Grenze" district development and the Aachen after-work market.

Wednesday, June 4

Among other things, the Integration Council discusses a concept development for youth participation, an amendment to Section 20 of the main statutes of the City of Aachen and various integration projects in the Council meeting room.

Thursday, June 5

The Committee for Schools and Further Education meets in the administration building on Mozartstraße (room 207). The "SCHLAU Aachen" project of AIDS Hilfe Aachen e. V. is presented there. The committee also discusses a status report on the trainer allowances for sports clubs that offer sports activities in schools and the updating of school development planning for secondary schools.

The meeting of the planning committee starts in the council chamber. The committee will discuss, for example, the next steps in the Büchel old town district, the completion of the "building block investigation" in the eastern city center and the new construction of the Aachen-Richterich rescue station.
