Local politics in the week from May 19 to 25
Four meetings are scheduled for the next municipal policy week. However, the meeting of the Committee for Science and Digitization on 22 May has been cancelled.
Tuesday, May 20,
The sports committee meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the meeting room at Haus Löwenstein. Items on the agenda include the renovation of the artificial turf pitch at the sports facility on Vaalser Straße, the status of the beach volleyball tournament at Katschhof on June 25 and the "Social Participation in Sport" sports promotion program.
At the same time, the Committee for the Environment and Climate Protection will meet in the Council Chamber of Aachen Town Hall. Three of the topics: the construction of a new permanent allotment garden site on Sonnenscheinstraße in Aachen-Eilendorf, the "flowering areas" funding guideline in the agricultural landscape and a report on the exchange with the "Rütsch" allotment garden association on the planned route of the Euregio high-speed cycle path (RS4).
Wednesday, May 21,
The Aachen-Mitte district council discusses the Beverau integrated urban development concept, the next steps for the Büchel old town district and the creation of 16 additional e-scooter parking spaces in the city from 5 p.m. in the multifunctional room in the main fire station on Stolberger Straße.
At 5.30 p.m., the Aachen-Eilendorf district council will meet in the meeting room of the local district office on Heinrich-Thomas-Platz. The agenda includes, for example, linking the crossing structure at Eilendorf station with the new construction of the Wolfsbendenstraße bridge and the creation of a mobility hub at the station. There will also be an update on the implementation of the multifunctional square on lower Birckstraße and the allocation of district funds for 2025 will be discussed.
