Artist talk and poetry slam at the Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum

The Suermondt-Ludwig-Museum cordially invites you to two event highlights as part of the group exhibition "Da(zwischen-)sein", which can be seen in the building on Wilhelmstraße until August 10. Both events will take place in the museum.

"Artist Talk" with Theresa Weber

At the "Artist Talk" with Theresa Weber on Saturday, June 14, from 6 to 7 p.m., the artist will give insights into her artistic practice in an open discussion with curator Sena-Marie Cirit, talking about her identity, anti-colonialism, cultural memory and how spaces in between become visible and tangible in her works. The artist's textile work in the foyer of the museum marks the start of the exhibition "Da(zwischen-)sein".

Theresa Weber (*1996, Düsseldorf) studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and the Royal College of Art in London. In her interdisciplinary works, she combines diverse materials with personal and collective stories. With her installations, Weber opens up new perspectives on representation, visibility and historical narratives.

The discussion evening is free of charge, registration is required by June 13 at eventslm@mail.aachen.de.

Poetry slam between poetry, humor and seriousness

A joint poetry slam evening with "Satznachvorn Aachen" on Friday, June 27, from 7 pm (admission 6.30 pm) combines contemporary literature with visual art and brings young voices to the stage that deal with the theme of the exhibition from a literary perspective. The invited slammers will deal with "being in-between" in all its facets. It will be poetic, political, humorous and touching.

Poetry slam stands for diversity and spontaneity: from cabaret satire to eloquent social criticism to sensitive poetry - anything is possible. The rules are simple: self-written texts, without props and within a fixed time frame. At the end, the audience decides who wins the evening.

The event will be hosted by Lukas Knoben, presenter, author and poetry slammer from Aachen. Admission costs 5 euros. Tickets are only available at the box office. The number of seats is limited.
