Art project at Hüls cemetery

An art installation is currently being created in the entrance area of Hüls cemetery. The Aachen-based artist Sandra Ganser has started the "Wandel" project. Garlands of plants are being created from dried flowers, twigs, grasses and other natural materials, which will expand and grow over many months. The installation will gradually move through the entrance area of the cemetery administration and will continue to develop until the end of the year. The project is sponsored by the Kulturbetrieb der Stadt Aachen.

What makes it special: Visitors can take part. In open appointments or

spontaneously - with a flower, a blade of grass or a twig they have brought with them. "This is how the participants connect with the work of art, with the

Nature - and with the people who walk, pause and help shape it," says Sandra Ganser. "Change means change - on the outside, but also on the inside. Especially in a place like this, it is beneficial to be allowed to be active."

The materials used come from nature: local,

Dried plants, recycled, without adhesives, without artificial additives.

The opening hours of the exhibition are based on the opening hours of the cemetery administration: Mondays to Fridays from 8 am to 5 pm. The exhibition is not accessible at weekends or on public holidays.
