Award ceremony for the "Aachen city champions"

No less than 435 medals and 46 trophies and certificates: The City of Aachen was able to present this large number of awards to the "Aachen City Champions" this year on behalf of the Aachen City Region School Sports Committee. Every year, Aachen schoolchildren are honored for their achievements in various sports. Some of the youngsters came to Couven Gymnasium shortly before the vacations to receive the prizes in person at a successful winners' ceremony.

Of the many outstanding performances, four are particularly worth mentioning because the athletes were among the top 5 in competitions beyond Aachen:

  • Inda-Gymnasium: U16, boys, swimming, participation in the state finals in Duisburg (2nd place)
  • Couven-Gymnasium: U14, girls, apparatus gymnastics, participation in the regional championship (3rd place)
  • Couven-Gymnasium: U16, girls, volleyball, participation in the state finals in Münster (4th place)
  • Couven-Gymnasium: U18, mixed, beach volleyball, participation in the state finals in Essen (5th place)
