Local politics in the week from July 7 to 13
The last week of local politics before the summer vacations includes three special meetings. A meeting of the children's forum and the election committee are also on the calendar.
Tuesday, July 8
The PRIMUS school in Titz and the social education specialists at Aachen elementary school will be presented to the Committee for Schools and Further Education from 5 p.m. in the administration building on Mozartstraße (room 207). The future workshop "Pimp My Future" will also be discussed.
The meeting of the Nature Conservation Advisory Board also begins at 5 p.m. in the administration building on Maria-Theresia-Allee (CAMPUS meeting room). There, the chairman will report on cases of participation.
Wednesday, July 9
From 11 a.m., the citizens' forum will meet as a children's forum in the Grenzlandtheater in the Elisengalerie on Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz. Two suggestions and complaints are on the agenda: free bus travel for children and young people in the greater Aachen area and more green spaces and play areas.
The Personnel and Administration Committee meets for a special meeting at 4 p.m. in the Council Chamber at Aachen Town Hall. There is no public discussion item on the agenda.
The special meeting of the Facility Management Committee will take place at 4.30 pm in the meeting room of Haus Löwenstein. No public agenda item is planned for this meeting either.
The Aachen City Council meets at 5 p.m. in the council chamber. It will discuss an accommodation tax for Aachen, the municipal heating plan and the "KRAFTWERK" project idea as part of the further development of the bus station.
Thursday, July 10
The special meeting of the Mobility Committee starts at 5 p.m. in the council chamber. Among other things, the committee will discuss the design of traffic areas in the Büchel old town district, the redesign of Roermonder Straße between Ponttor and Kohlscheider Straße as part of the district heating expansion and the redesign of Lochnerstraße.
Friday, July 11
At its public meeting at 11 a.m. in the Council meeting room, the Election Committee will decide on the approval of the nominations submitted for the election of the district councils, the Aachen City Council and for the election of the Lord Mayor.
