The upcoming redesign of Theaterplatz and its surroundings is one of Aachen's largest urban development projects. To mark the official start of the construction work, the city and Regionetz are jointly inviting all interested parties to the official start of construction on Tuesday, February 4, at 12:30 p.m. on Theaterplatz.

Lord Mayor Sibylle Keupen, City Planning Councillor Frauke Burgdorff and Regionetz Managing Directors Stefan Ohmen and Axel Kahl, together with their teams, are looking forward to talking to visitors and passers-by on site. As part of the official opening of the construction site, the planning team and the construction company will be on site until around 2 p.m. to engage in dialog. Students from the University of Music will enrich the small event with a few musical interludes. There will also be drinks and snacks. At around 1 p.m., the city and Regionetz will offer a guided tour of the construction site together with the construction company Lube & Krings.
