Harscamp-/Schildstraße: City presents its expansion plans
Harscampstrasse and Schildstrasse are to be redesigned. The routing of pedestrian and cycle traffic is to be improved and the small square between the two streets upgraded. The current plans include newly planted trees and new bicycle parking facilities. The new development is to take place after the Regionetz pipeline work. Regionetz will inform local residents separately about the work on the supply network and the associated possible traffic restrictions.
The city's specialist administration is expected to present its plans to the Aachen-Mitte district council and the mobility committee for discussion in February 2025.
Since Monday, January 20, 2025, it has made the current plans for the expansion and further information available online in a presentation set to music on the following website: www.aachen.de/schildstrasse.
At the same time, interested parties can also view the current plans in the foyer of the "Am Marschiertor" administration building at Lagerhausstraße 20. The building is open Mondays to Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Citizens can submit questions about the public information and current planning in writing to the administration in two ways by January 31: via the letterbox in the foyer of the administration building "Am Marschiertor", Lagerhausstraße 20, or by email: schildstrasse@mail.aachen.de.
