Bundestag election 2025: Apply for a postal vote online
From next Saturday, January 11, citizens entitled to vote in Aachen can apply for postal voting via the online postal voting portal. The link to the portal can be found at aachen.de/bundestagswahl2025. Applications for postal votes can be submitted there until February 19, 11.59 pm. Anyone wishing to apply for postal voting documents now can do so informally by sending an email to wahlen@mail.aachen.de or by post to the electoral office at Blücherplatz, stating their first name and surname, address, date of birth and any different postal address.
Election assistants wanted
The electoral office is still looking for electoral assistants for the polling stations and postal voting centers. In principle, all citizens who are eligible to vote can also become a poll worker and thus volunteer. No special prior knowledge is required to become an election assistant. However, careful work is a prerequisite. The Elections Department also offers training courses in which election day procedures are explained and questions are answered. What's more, requests regarding the place of work can usually be taken into account.
If you have any questions, our colleagues in the Elections department at Blücherplatz 43 or by phone on 0241-432 1625 or by email at wahlhilfe@mail.aachen.de will be happy to help. All information can be found at aachen.de/wahlhilfe.
Postal polling stations
The city of Aachen has found a central solution for counting postal votes. For the Bundestag elections, all postal voting stations will be housed in the former Alkuinrealschule.
