More residential quality on Seffenter Weg: B-plan on display until February 28
The residential quality of the Seffenter estate is to be significantly improved. The planning committee has therefore initiated early public participation. The development plan no. 1018 "Seffenter Weg / Hörnstieg" will be on display in the foyer of the administration building at Marschiertor, Lagerhausstraße 20, until Friday, February 28. The opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 6 pm and Friday from 8 am to 3 pm. The documents are also available online at www.aachen.de/bauleitplanung.
The development plan is intended to create planning law for extensions and new buildings at Seffenter Weg 60-78. The area is currently characterized by five apartment buildings from the 1960s that are in need of renovation and no longer meet today's requirements due to inflexible floor plans, low building density and considerable noise pollution from the adjacent railroad line. The site is to be restructured by doubling the existing living space and creating a contemporary living environment. The aim is to develop a mixed neighborhood with affordable housing that supports disadvantaged groups in particular, such as people receiving transfer benefits, refugees and senior citizens.
In order to promote interaction within the residents, commercial spaces related to the apartments are to be made possible on the first floors. The design of the open spaces is intended to increase the quality of stay and achieve an ecological enhancement of the area. In addition, measures to improve noise protection are to be implemented in order to reduce disturbance. The city is also aiming for resource-conserving and sustainable development.
