Lord Mayor Dr. Michael Ziemons launches new dialog formats: More proximity, more exchange, more opportunities for discussion
Lord Mayor Dr. Michael Ziemons is expanding the opportunities for direct exchange with citizens with immediate effect. The aim is to make the dialog even more low-threshold, open and citizen-oriented. "In addition, there will be significantly more citizen consultation hours - in the town hall, but also deliberately where people are: in pubs, restaurants, district centers and other local facilities," explains the Lord Mayor. "I will also go on a dialog tour through the outlying districts and institutions." With these new formats, Ziemons wants to strengthen direct contact and get to know people's concerns even better. By being present in different districts and meeting places, the aim is to break down inhibitions and create more opportunities for uncomplicated conversations.
The consultation hours generally take place in the town hall, the first of which begins on January 16, 2026 at 11 a.m. Please register for this at: assistenz.ob@mail.aachen.de
The first pub consultation will take place on January 19, 2026 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at KiezKini, Promenadenstraße 46. Registration is not required. All current dates for consultation hours, the dialog tour and information on other participation formats will be published on aachen.de on an ongoing basis. "I would be delighted if we could get to know each other personally and talk directly on site," says the Lord Mayor.
