The Hangeweiher outdoor pool will reopen its gates on time on Thursday, May 1, and start this year's open water season. As in 2024, the interim containers for showers, changing rooms, lockers, staff and equipment will also be used this season. In addition to the 50-metre-long stainless steel swimmers' pool with diving board, the stainless steel-look non-swimmers' pool with water cannons, large stainless steel slide and massage jets offers fun for young and old alike. There is a children's paddling area in the shade for the little ones. There are also various play and sports facilities. Whether you're an early swimmer, sun-seeker or a family pool day - the outdoor pool close to the city center with its large sunbathing lawn and beautiful trees is attractive for everyone.

At the beginning on Thursday, May 1, the Hangeweiher outdoor pool will be open from 6:30 am to 9:15 pm.

The Elisabethhalle, the Brand indoor swimming pool and the Ulla-Klinger-Halle are closed on May Day. However, in addition to the outdoor pool, the southern swimming pool will also be open on this day from 9 am to 4 pm.

To avoid waiting times, it is worth buying an admission ticket in advance in the web store at https://ticket-baeder.aachen.de/. Individual tickets do not have a fixed date and are valid for three years from the date of purchase in all municipal pools.

Furthermore, the Sports Department would like to point out that due to the ongoing shortage of qualified staff and the open water season, the opening hours of the swimming pools will be changed from May 2, 2025.
