Narcotics and weapon found during youth protection check

Just another day at the joint police and public order office: last week, a colleague from the public order and security service (OSD) observed a young man giving a cigarette to an apparent minor. During the subsequent youth protection check, it turned out that the young woman was only 14 years old. As the young man was unable to identify himself, the colleague asked him to come to the contact point to establish his personal details. The colleague noticed that the young man was very conspicuously trying to close his jacket. On closer inspection, the colleague was able to make out a weapon in the waistband of the man's pants. Together with a police officer, the colleague took the weapon and searched the young man further. In addition to the weapon with blank ammunition, a considerable amount of narcotics and various tranquilizers in the form of tablets were discovered. The police are taking over the further investigation.

On the same day, the same OSD colleague, together with the police colleague, observed an elderly man leaning against the window of the drop-in center and holding his chest. Together, the two colleagues asked the man if he needed medical help. When the man nodded, the colleagues informed the emergency services, who drove the elderly man to the university hospital with a suspected heart attack. We would like to take this opportunity to wish him a speedy recovery.
