A colorful street festival for the Forst/Driescher Hof district
Several hundred visitors celebrated a colorful street festival on the forecourt of the "Christus unser Friede" church in the heart of Driescher Hof. At many different stands, for example from the "D-Hof" initiative for children and young people and various daycare centers and family centers, the residents of the Forst/Driescher Hof district were able to paint bags, spray pictures or enjoy delicious food. The varied offerings with live music and the dedicated organizers delighted the guests as much as Mayor Sibylle Keupen. During her visit, she emphasized: "These places of encounter are needed. Commitment needs a framework so that it can flourish."
The street festival is an event organized by the city's neighbourhood management, which aims to develop the district together with institutions, associations and residents. Since spring this year, numerous projects and activities have been created at various locations in the district under the motto "We are growing together". Many cooperation partners are helping - for example the Getting-Up-Foundation, which accompanied the workshop weeks. The spectrum of projects ranges from sports and creative activities to new opportunities for encounters, advice and information.
Further events such as a St. Martin's bonfire for Forst/Driescher Hof are to follow in the coming months. However, the highlight is the current street festival, which will also take place in the coming years.
