"Aachener Einzelhandel, Gastronomie und Handwerk stärken" fund enters its sixth round under a new name

From now on, associations, advertising, street and interest groups as well as other groups of at least three companies from the retail, gastronomy and craft sectors will once again have the opportunity to submit grant applications to the Aachen Economic Development Agency's support fund. This sixth edition of the fund is being launched under the new name "Öcher Perlen - Fonds für eine lebenswert Innenstadt" (previously: Fonds "Aachener Einzelhandel, Gastronomie und Handwerk stärken").

The aim is to continue to create incentives to revitalize and increase the attractiveness of the city centre and districts, for example by holding events and a joint public image. However, the joint and temporary use or design of (vacant) stores and their shop windows is also possible.

The fund specifically supports local players, their ideas and cooperation between business people. Up to 10,000 euros can be applied for per project. The projects should address the topic of "Öch shopping experiences in winter and spring". All interested stakeholders from the city center and the city districts are eligible to apply. The application period runs until November 30, 2024. Once approved, the projects have six months to be implemented.

The fund was initiated in 2021 thanks to politically provided funding and is part of the "City Center Tomorrow" future process. Almost 100 projects have already been funded since the fund was launched.
