Old friends, new friends
30 years of schrit_tmacher just dance!

It's that time again: every year between Carnival and Easter, schrit_tmacher invites you to experience contemporary dance with a wide variety of productions from all over the world. This year, companies and artists from Canada, Great Britain, France, Taiwan, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany will be guests at the 30th edition of the festival.

In recent years, the program has been expanded with "new friends". The result of these collaborations can be experienced in projects with the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, Aachen location, the Stürtz cinema family, the Bischöfliche Akademie, Cinedans, Kool Cult and the SCENAR!O Festival, as well as in new, multidisciplinary "Festival Specials" and exciting, cross-border community projects. At the same time, the dance festival will be expanded next year to include further new stages with the Theater Aachen and the Toon Hermans Theater in Sittard.

Since the first festival in 1993 at the Ludwig Forum Aachen, schrit_tmacher has become a cross-border dance and culture festival of international standing with performances, films, workshops and related projects. With stages in Aachen, Heerlen, Kerkrade and Eupen, the innovative and unique situation of a large festival taking place simultaneously in three countries has been created. And the Euregional and international audience shuttles enthusiastically between all the venues.

Heinrich Brötz, municipal councillor for education, youth and culture, says: "The fact that this festival has been able to develop in this way is thanks to the creative makers, the trusting Euregional cooperation, the loyal and enthusiastic audience and, of course, the many companies and collaborating actors who are constantly setting new artistic accents. Aachen and the Euregio can be proud of schrit_tmacher."
