Local politics in the week from December 9 to 15


There are nine meetings on the local political calendar next week. This would almost be the last local political week of the year, but the district election committee is still meeting on Thursday, December 19.

Tuesday, December 10
The Committee for Work, Economic and Regional Development meets at 5 p.m. in the meeting room at Haus Löwenstein. Among other things, a final report on the "Circular Food Chain" project, the implementation of the measures of the integrated climate protection concept and a resolution on public participation in municipal heat planning will be discussed.

The meeting of the Sports Committee will also start at 5 p.m. in the meeting room of Aachen Town Hall. Topics include a roof renovation of the triple gyms at the Laurensberg school center, the promotion of special sporting events in the city of Aachen in 2025 and a beach volleyball tournament at the Katschhof.

The meeting of the Eurogress operating committee will take place at 6.30 pm in conference room 3 of the Eurogress. There are no items on the agenda for the public part of the meeting.

Wednesday, December 11,
The Aachen-Brand district council will meet in the meeting room of the Aachen-Brand district office on Paul-Küpper-Platz at 5 pm. Three of the topics on the agenda: municipal heating planning, a resolution on the adaptation of Nordstraße between Gewerbepark Brand and Eilendorfer Straße and the expansion of Vennbahnweg in section 9, specifically the Sigsfeldstraße ramp.

The meeting of the Aachen-Kornelimünster / Walheim district council begins at 5 p.m. in the meeting room of the associated district office on Schulberg. The agenda includes the presentation of the arbitrator for the Kornelimünster / Walheim arbitration district, a motion on the financing of the historical fair in Kornelimünster and, here too, municipal heating planning.

The Aachen-Mitte district council will meet from 5 p.m. in the council meeting room at Aachen Town Hall. Municipal heating planning will also be discussed here. In addition, the integrated urban development concept for Beverau, more specifically the Beverau Disposal Fund, will be discussed and the new arbitrator for the Aachen Mitte II (North) arbitration district will introduce herself.

The meeting of the Aachen-Richterich district council concludes the municipal political Wednesday. Starting at 6 p.m. in the meeting room at Schloss Schönau, the plans for the construction of the new volunteer fire and rescue station in Richterich, the 2024 / 2025 timetable measures and municipal heating planning will be discussed.

Thursday, December 12,
Starting at 5 p.m., the Mobility Committee in the council meeting room at Aachen Town Hall will discuss the status of the Haaren priority cycle route, among other things. Current framework conditions and the strategic further development of local public transport will also be discussed. The introduction of a women's night cab will also be discussed.

The Personnel and Administration Committee meets at 5 p.m. in the Campus meeting room (SG113) in the administration building on Maria-Theresia-Allee. The agenda includes, for example, an organizational study in the Fire and Rescue Service department, the staffing plan and the development of personnel and pension expenses in 2025 as well as a report on the implementation of the Participation Opportunities Act in Aachen City Administration.
