, the Committee on Children and Youth and the Committee on Schools and Continuing Education will hold a joint meeting in the City Council chamber at City Hall. On the agenda are Aachen’s school zones, including the permanent establishment of a school zone at GGS Brühlstraße. Another topic will be the need for full-day spots for children at elementary schools and special education schools in Aachen. In addition, information will be provided on enrollment figures at general education schools for the coming school year. At
the same time, the Committee on Environment and Climate Protection will meet in the administrative building on Mozartstraße. One of the items on the agenda is the development plan for the “Altstadtquartier Büchel Süd” district. Following that, the committee will once again address the FLIP meadows and the preservation of biodiversity, as well
as current reports from Altbau plus e.V. and the “Climate-Neutral Aachen 2030” office.
Wednesday, April 29The meeting of the Committee on Labor, Economy, Science, and Regional Development begins at 5 p.m. at Haus Löwenstein am Markt. One of the agenda items addresses the economic impact of tourism in Aachen. This will be followed by a status report on the city’s parking situation: the utilization of parking garages will be discussed, as well as an overview of park-and-ride options. The focus will be on regulatory instruments and the corresponding economic consequences for Aachen. In addition, a location analysis of the artificial intelligence ecosystem in the Aachen region will be presented.
Also at 5 p.m., the Aachen-Brand District Council will meet at the local district office. It will review a city map for Brand containing information on accessibility. Other topics include an amendment to the land-use plan for wind energy areas and the elimination of the hazardous situation at the Vennbahncenter/Trierer Straße exit. The meeting of the Aachen-Haaren District
Council begins at 6 p.m. in the meeting room of the community center on Germanusstraße. The agenda here also includes the land-use plan for wind energy areas, featuring a presentation of the results of public and official participation, as well as a resolution on its adoption and publication online. Additionally, the Mobility Forum will report on “Haaren Clever Mobil.”

30 The meeting of the Mobility Committee begins at 5 p.m. in the Council Chamber. A status report on the parking situation in December 2025 is on the agenda. In addition, the results of the resident participation process and the redesign concept following the Regionetz project on Pontstraße will be presented. Subsequently, information will be provided on the second construction phase between Limburger Straße and Amsterdamer Ring.
