Tuesday, February 3,
The Committee for the Environment and Climate Protection meets at 5 pm. One of the items to be discussed: The adoption of the environmental report and its inclusion in the explanatory statement for the second amendment to the AACHEN*2030 land use plan - wind energy areas. Also on the agenda: the redesign of the playground and the green space at Hirschgraben and the current status of the fight against the Asian hornet. At the same time, the meeting of the election review committee begins in the council chamber of Aachen City Hall. One of the topics: The status report on the application by the Bündnis 90/Die Grünen parliamentary group for the special protection of children in road traffic and traffic calming in front of elementary school in Laurensberg. The district council also deals with measures in the northern Püngelerstraße from a motion by the CDU parliamentary group. The meeting of the Aachen-Richterich district council begins at 6 p.m. in Schloss Schönau (meeting room on the second floor). The 2026 budget discussions are also on the agenda.

The Aachen-Haaren district council meets at 6 p.m. in the meeting room of the community center on Germanusstraße. Three of the topics: An exchange with the management of the daycare centers in the Haaren district, the improvement of the traffic situation and safety at the junction of Kleinheidstraße and Verlautenheider Straße, as well as a status report on the funded project Rad-Vorrang-Route (RVR).

Thursday, February 5,
The Committee for Social Affairs and Demography meets at 5 p.m. in the council chamber. Among other things, it will be looking at socially oriented neighborhood development with projects in Forst/Driescher Hof. Under the title "Strengthening queer life in Aachen", three council motions from the Green and SPD parliamentary groups are also on the agenda. The allocation of funds for integration measures this year is another item on the agenda.

The meeting of the Committee for Schools and Further Education will also begin at 5 p.m. in the Mozartstraße administration building, room 207. One of the topics will be the introduction of a PRIMUS school in Aachen. Here, elementary school are to be integrated into secondary schools in order to learn together for longer. The committee also discusses the name change of the municipal Montessori community elementary school and the donation of a climbing pyramid by the GGS Am Höfling support association.
