5: The Building Management Operations Committee will meet in the AGIT building on Forckenbeckstraße. The committee will present the building management budget plan, which has been adjusted to align with the 2026 budget investment program. Also on the agenda are two status reports on the 2026 school and non-school repair program.
The Citizens’ Forum meets in the City Hall council chamber. A citizen’s petition regarding a campaign against cigarette litter will be discussed, and the results of the “The Night Belongs to Us” survey will be presented. In addition, the Citizens’ Forum will discuss the establishment of a Youth Council.
Wednesday, May
6The Aachen-Mitte District Council will also convene in the council chamber. On the agenda is a resolution regarding continuous access to the bike path on Soerser Weg, heading toward the city center. The District Council will then decide on the establishment of two parking spaces with a maximum parking duration of 30 minutes in front of the St. Josef Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Finally, the “AACHEN Kompass” project will be discussed, focusing on potential uses for the area between Jülicher Straße and the Wurm River.
Thursday, May
7The meeting of the Operations Committee for Culture, Theater, and the Adult Education Center (VHS) will take place in the administrative building on Mozartstraße. The City Theater and the Aachen Music Department will present the performance and concert schedule for the 2026/27 season. This will be followed by a status report on the Aachen Nazi Memorial and a citizen’s petition regarding education and action weeks against anti-Semitism in the city.
The Planning Committee will meet in the Council Chamber. The committee will decide on the reorientation of the planning for Richtericher Dell and, furthermore, on the public disclosure of the “Altstadtquartier Büchel Süd” development plan. A report on the results of public and official participation regarding the Elsassstraße / Moscheeplatz zoning plan is also on the agenda.
